Look at these women – what do you see? I don’t know about you, but I see pain, sorrow, anxiety, and sadness written all over their faces. They are widows! And they are single mothers begging for help to send their children to school. They lost their husbands through no fault of theirs and are saddled with the responsibility of raising children all alone. They live in a country where there’s no social security, nor a welfare program to fall back on. No food stamps, no W.I.C. checks for them to feed their children. But they are not asking for hand-outs. They work hard. They do whatever job they can find, such as going door-to-door seeking to watch people’s clothes for a fee, or clean their homes in exchange for food; going to restaurants to watch dishes; working as day labor on farms; fetching firewood for sale. In spite of their efforts, they hardly make enough to support their children. They have to choose between putting food on the table and sending their kids to school. They have ideas for small businesses, but no capital.
Leaving with a Smile . . .

At Rethink Africa, we share their pain. They have just one request: that their children may get help to go to school. We grant this request by providing school fees, food, uniforms, and books for them. They come to our office with sadness, they leave with a smile. You, our supporters, have made it possible. Thank YOU for putting smiles on their faces! Thank you for donating for their children to have a basic education!
